2020 Summer Annual Puppetry Boot Camp #2 - Therapeutic Puppetry Tool Box Series 'Touched into Being' The Mother Archetype and How Puppetry Supports the 4 Lower Senses July 17-21 Boulder, Colorado
The inner qualities and gestures of the enlivened and ensouled Mother Puppet engaged in loving care of her baby/child, imprints on the child who is watching, and is so open in heart to the story. This is the powerful way puppetry used in a therapeutic manner can be healing to our children.
This 5 day intensive immersion in the Mother as archetype in puppetry will delve into how we can bring to life those same qualities in the mother characters we use in telling stories to young children. We will include how we can bring the 4 lower senses: touch, life, self-movement, and balance in the healthiest of visual ways through the Mother and Child relationship in our puppet work.
We will concentrate on the Rod Puppet, as this kind of puppet has the most exquisite of gesture and movement possibilities. We will create puppets and props, develop stories to support the senses, create artistic and healing presentations, work on our life-giving story voice and have a lively discussion of the lower senses and healing in puppetry. To enter the mood of the Mother and Child, we will also create beautiful felted tapestries.
