This mini puppet boot camp immersion in the Mother as archetype in story will delve into how we can bring to visual life those same qualities in the mother puppet characters we use in telling stories to young children. We will also explore how we can bring the healing qualities of the sense of Touch through meaningful gesture, movements, and soul qualities of the Mother and child puppets.
The children will take in the visual gesture, physical and soul, of the Mother puppet and feel they too are held and loved in the Embrace of the Mother. This character is extremely therapeutic for all young children.
We will concentrate on the Rod Puppet, as this kind of puppet has the most exquisite of gesture and movement possibilities. We will create puppets and props, develop stories to support the relationship of child and mother and bring to life the importance of elevated, conscious touch, create artistic and healing presentations, work on our life-giving story voice and have a lively discussion on the sense of touch for the development of the child.
The course is presented to you on an online course platform - Ruzuku - an easy to use host. Lessons come to your inbox , and you can find your own pace. You can work at your own best timetable, and you keep the course forever to refer to. Course content comes in video, written, assignments to do, share, and comment on each others posts, videos, photos... I comment on all of your posts and am happy to mentor you with next steps in your puppet work when you post a video of your practices. Puppet making tutorials are in step by step video format. Puppet demonstrations are also in video form.
