Juniper Tree Puppets Long Time Certificate Puppetry Training Course over the last 30 years is now offered ONLINE in a One Year Program for people near and far to join in. You will maximize your Puppetry, Storytelling, Story Writing, Puppet Making (and much more)skills.
We dive deep into the Artistic, Pedagogical, and Therapeutic aspects of the Art of Puppetry for Early Childhood and All Age Audiences. The expanded time a year provides us will allow the skill-building immersion to transform your story/puppetry work with young children forever.

I am excited to offer this Online now which will eliminate travel and housing costs, and give you flexibility of when you do the assignments each month. You will receive content and assignments at the beginning of each month, right in your email inbox. The lessons will consist of videos, written content to refer to again and again, and assignment/action steps to give you hands on practice and skills. The Online format we will use encourages community sharing, discussion, commenting and next-steps guidance by me.
A requirement is that you send videos in of our puppetry assignments so I can see how you are doing and cheerlead you on in your progress with love, suggestions, and next steps. I will be your year long support and mentor. A phone, or computer video is fine. If I can figure out a phone video download, anyone can!!! There will be much learning for all through the videos and thoughtful comments which will help everyone. We get to see the progress made through the year which will be so exciting and heart-warming.
Over the year we have time and a proven program for incredible advances in the quality, depth, and understanding of puppetry you all will bring to children in your future! Your practice time and assignments will benefit the children each month as you go through the program!
You will learn and deepen:
** Learning to make beautiful and varied puppets that move with conscious gesture and grace, including table puppets, rod puppets, marionettes, humans, animals, story aprons, and more (the art of the finger puppet is now a bonus course to add to the training experience).
** developing staging that will support your puppet presentations, working with silk, color, texture, entries and exits, forms and variations, and needle-felted story background.
** Discovering our Storytelling Voices!!
** Learning how to write our own puppet stories, that allow for movement, stillness, gesture, and therapeutic and pedagogical aspects.
** Exploring how Music and Song can lift up and enhance our presentations.
** Puppet stories for Seasons, Celebrations and Festivals
** Outdoor Puppetry

** How Props and Surprise can add magic and interest to our shows.
** Prop making, Story vessels, Protection Story Puppetry, and Wonder
** Introduction to the importance of the Worker Character in Story, and Steiner's 12 Professions in Puppetry.

** Pedagogical and Therapeutic Insights will weave throughout the Artistic presentation of our Puppet Stories.
