Juniper Tree Puppets, the ECE Puppet Specialists, is offering a FREE 3-day online course introducing Outdoor Shelter Puppet Stories using nature as our inspiration. Through video content and outdoor action steps, you will be guided on how to find 'shelters' in nature that can spark a puppet tale where a small character can find a cozy safe home. We will also bring our stories to life in a simple puppet show
We will explore 3 ways to approach outdoor shelter tales. One will be using only found nature in our puppet story, and two, how it looks to weave in our all natural material made puppets in and around the found nature shelters. The third way is to bring our pre-made natural material shelters and characters into the wild landscape of nature.... leaving the silks inside... letting the staging be only from nature.
When we open our observation powers, we will find that shelters big and small are all around us... a hollow tree, a nest, a seed pod, a gnarled root, a branch hanging low. We can share what we find and get inspiration from each other!
This free action-oriented challenge will excite people to create and share puppet tales inspired by these cozy, warm, inviting, nature houses!
Suzanne Down will be your guide, sharing more of her passion about stories that help children feel a little safer in our complex world.
As this takes place on my online course platform, you may enjoy it at your own best times during the 3 days.... and it will stay open to you all until Sunday November 16. Expect 10-15 minutes of 'action' for each daily lesson, but if you get into the hunt for nature's shelter spaces, take all the time you need!
